I've been with my boyfriend for 7 months now I love him but it's beginning to annoy me how much of a mummy's boy he actually is. It does have it's pros as it means he treats me with the utmost respect and truly adores me but I can't help but feel she is controlling aspects of the relationship.

I feel my boyfriend comes from a more traditional background than me as I've been given quite a lot more freedom. For example, a few months ago we had planned a weekend away but then bf's mum kicked off and basically told him he can't spend the night, possibly because it didn't look good of him bare in mind he is 30!! His mum is lovely and does really like me, but I feel this was unfair on us and our relationship. It's difficult for it to progress when there's such restrictions.

My parents, on the other hand, would be absolutely fine with me going away with him for weeks at a time let alone a weekend. Also, when we meet up and go on dates my parents would never text me as they wouldn't want to distract me, but his mum is constantly texting him when we're together, asking how I am and for pictures of me etc I get that he likes showing me off but I'm a bit fed up of this now.

She also once gave him the silent treatment the day after one of our dates because he wasn't texting her back. We've not had sex yet although it is on the cards soon. I just feel like Im dating a mummys boy so much I want that I'm not able to get, as Im dating a mummys boy never even spent a night together.

I don't mean sexually, but I feel an important part of getting to know one another is spending prolonged time together. I feel myself getting tired and bored of the relationship because of this and I know it's not his fault because he's stuck in the middle. I haven't mentioned any of this to him. Do you think it's best for me to bring this up with him, or do I just wait it out? Not what you're looking for? Report Thread starter 2 years ago 2. Report 2 years ago 3. Too much hassle. I dated a Polish guy for about a year. His mother controlled every aspect of his life. I wasn't a Catholic so that didn't help.
